LMCC World Views Short Term Project
World Trade Center, Tower 1
91st Floor and Helicopter outside windows

The experience of being on the 91st floor of the World Trade Center is overwhelming. It is hermetically closed. The windows are sealed and no doors lead to the outside. So while the view is liberating, the impossibility of opening any window is restrictive and constraining. Further, because of the building's height, it is, practically speaking, impossible to be on the outside looking in. Every view is a one-way look, from the inside looking out. Our aim was to invert this relationship by reflecting the building’s image back inside while also extending our studio space.
